    Use with chiliASP

     Hi everyone,

I am a newbie in Expressions Web. Unfortunately, my ISP is Linux based and only supports Sun One ASP. Can Expressions Web  be configured to produce compatible code or is there an add-on that will do this?

    Hi Bryani

    Welcome to the forums! Smile

I know very little about Sun One ASP other than it allows for asp to be used on *nix type servers. I am not aware of any tpe of addon that could be used for Expression to change the way you would us asp type of coding...however I also am not sure you would need anything either? If Sun One is installed I think you could hand code asp types of pages in Expression and in most cases I would think they would work.

If using asp is critical for you...perhaps you could consider a Windows host that fully supports it as well?

    Re: Use with chiliASP

Use PHP instead since ChiliASP only supports a subset of Classic ASP which Expression Web doesn't really support at all (no Intellisense for classic asp at all).

Since you host is open to running Classic ASP on their Linux servers you might ask if they would be willing to run the open source  Linux version of ASP.NET (free) which they can get at http://go-mono.com No special add-ins are required to use ASP.NET whether it is the Mono Project version or the Microsoft verson in Expression Web.
